Making progress on this dress! Getting ready to out the zipper in… wish me luck, I’ve been fighting with my sewing machines all day….
Here’s the top inspired by Butterick 6620, over added a couple of darts to give it some shape. Hemmed the bottom and sleeves. It will be perfect to throw on with a pair of cigarette pants to run to the fabric store!
I’m self drafting this dress based off of a blouse pattern that I don’t have. It’s looking pretty good. I’ve made several patterns including a short sleeve version. This one will have 3/4 length sleeves and a full circle skirt.
I’ve also cut out a 3/4 circle skirts out of a red linen. I’m pretty sure I have enough to make the short sleeve shirt to go with it.
Be sure to stop by my pattern store! Lots to choose from. E-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org and mention this blog and receive 30% of all sewing pattern purchases! Offer good October 31, 2016 only!
I got completely sidetracked, while making a gathered skirt. I wasn’t very happy with how it looked sew I am making Vintage Vogue 6446 instead! The darts are in front and back bodice are attached to the waistband. I am so excited to have this as part of my new Vintage capsule wardrobe. I should have it finished tomorrow.

So I started my inventory if my closet. I talked to my Mom and told her what I was doing…. Inventory of my closet….. her response was black, black, black… Well she was right! 2 pair of black pants, two pair of black capri’s.. I did have one pair of tan claim diggers and one pair of light brown pants. Only need to alter one pair of the capri’s so they fit. So apparently my capsule wardrobe is going to start with those. I have one cute cardigan in a creme color and several little tops that have a vintage feel to them. I also have three of my circle skirts that I will be adding to this!
My goal now is to figure out the colors I want to bring to this dull start. So next is going to be the inventory of the fabrics I have in my stash. Not a bad start!
Making a capsule wardrobe? Where to begin? What to include? So many questions! So many ideas!
I think all of us attempt to put together a capsule wardrobe, not really calling it that. But, I think actually sitting down and putting some thought into this capsule wardrobe a great idea. So this little blog is going to be my attempt at creating my little capsule wardrobe!
I’ve started pulling patterns from my store for my new project! Here are a few!
I’ve joined some groups on Facebook for sewing and there’s a new capsule wardrobe group that fabulous. I’ll be sharing some of the things I’ve learned. Hopefully, I’ll have a new capsule wardrobe to share when I get to the end of this exploration!
