Good morning! I’ve been busy working on projects and custom orders. Cigarette pants are my new project. Here are a couple of pictures and pattern inspirations!
McCall’s 9517 and Advance 8974
These pants are great for casual everyday or dress them up. The pants have a back zipper with darts and facing. Easy pattern for beginners or the experienced seamstress! The navy cigarette pants are made with a lighter weight cotton fabric. I used a heavier cotton fabric for the grey ones. Both are very comfortable and easy to throw on for a quick trip to the store or for a day playing with your kids “in my case it’s grandkids.”

Well, I haven’t managed to work on my capsule wardrobe… not specifically anyway! But, I’m making great strides in the skirt department! I’ve almost completed seven circle skirts, 3/4 circle skirts and one 8 gore skirt. They are all different lengths and colors. All will have elastic waistbands. I’m also getting ready to start some pencil skirts. Maybe I’ll become the “Skirt Lady”, I’m pretty pleased with these….. photos to follow the new batch!
Can’t forget the little girls they just love the circle skirts for the excellent twirl factor! Us big girls love that twirl factor too!
Making progress on this dress! Getting ready to put the zipper in… wish me luck, I’ve been fighting with my sewing machines all day….
Here’s the top inspired by Butterick 6620, over added a couple of darts to give it some shape. Hemmed the bottom and sleeves. It will be perfect to throw on with a pair of cigarette pants to run to the fabric store!
I’m self drafting this dress based off of a blouse pattern that I don’t have. It’s looking pretty good. I’ve made several patterns including a short sleeve version. This one will have 3/4 length sleeves and a full circle skirt.
I’ve also cut out a 3/4 circle skirts out of a red linen. I’m pretty sure I have enough to make the short sleeve shirt to go with it.

Custom order for a circle skirt turned out great and Katie looks fabulous! Thank you for sharing your picture! Seeing my finished projects being worn or used is one of the greatest feelings in the world. I just love knowing that they are being enjoyed!
After finishing 4 circle skirts, I decided that i would actually wear them! It was a great way to pick myself up and feel special. It also turned out to be a great marketing tool!
My first stop the day was Circle K and the cashier loved it. She placed an order and has picked up her skirt! After the third day of wearing my skirts my daughter’s neighbor stopped me, after chatting for a few minutes she placed and order for matching Mom and daughter skirts!
I’ve managed to finish 12 women’s circle skirts!
Check back soon for new listings to my shop as I get these new skirts posted! As always special orders available. Feel free to contact me with any questions!
