Good morning! I’ve been busy working on projects and custom orders. Cigarette pants are my new project. Here are a couple of pictures and pattern inspirations!
These pants are great for casual everyday or dress them up. The pants have a back zipper with darts and facing. Easy pattern for beginners or the experienced seamstress! The navy cigarette pants are made with a lighter weight cotton fabric. I used a heavier cotton fabric for the grey ones. Both are very comfortable and easy to throw on for a quick trip to the store or for a day playing with your kids “in my case it’s grandkids.”

Circle Skirts – New lengths
Well, I haven’t managed to work on my capsule wardrobe… not specifically anyway! But, I’m making great strides in the skirt department! I’ve almost completed seven circle skirts, 3/4 circle skirts and one 8 gore skirt. They are all different lengths and colors. All will have elastic waistbands. I’m also getting ready to start some pencil skirts. Maybe I’ll become the “Skirt Lady”, I’m pretty pleased with these….. photos to follow the new batch!
Can’t forget the little girls they just love the circle skirts for the excellent twirl factor! Us big girls love that twirl factor too!

Vintage Capsule wardrobe – Full Circle Dress
Making progress on this dress! Getting ready to put the zipper in… wish me luck, I’ve been fighting with my sewing machines all day….
Here’s the top inspired by Butterick 6620, over added a couple of darts to give it some shape. Hemmed the bottom and sleeves. It will be perfect to throw on with a pair of cigarette pants to run to the fabric store!
I’m self drafting this dress based off of a blouse pattern that I don’t have. It’s looking pretty good. I’ve made several patterns including a short sleeve version. This one will have 3/4 length sleeves and a full circle skirt.
I’ve also cut out a 3/4 circle skirts out of a red linen. I’m pretty sure I have enough to make the short sleeve shirt to go with it.
Be sure to stop by my pattern store! Lots to choose from. E-mail me at email@example.com and mention this blog and receive 30% of all sewing pattern purchases! Offer good October 31, 2016 only!

Re-proposed Denim Skirts
I got side tracked from my capsule wardrobe while doing my inventory of what I have to include in it. I have so many projects going!! Be sure to check back and see what’s new in finished projects. If you want to get started on your own projects check out my store Vintage and modern sewing patterns. Crafts to clothes and everything in between!!
Planning my capsule wardrobe – Step one Inventory
So I started my inventory if my closet. I talked to my Mom and told her what I was doing…. Inventory of my closet….. her response was black, black, black… Well she was right! 2 pair of black pants, two pair of black capri’s.. I did have one pair of tan claim diggers and one pair of light brown pants. Only need to alter one pair of the capri’s so they fit. So apparently my capsule wardrobe is going to start with those. I have one cute cardigan in a creme color and several little tops that have a vintage feel to them. I also have three of my circle skirts that I will be adding to this!
My goal now is to figure out the colors I want to bring to this dull start. So next is going to be the inventory of the fabrics I have in my stash. Not a bad start!
Here are pictures of my circle skirts.

My granddaughter Karyn is such a great little model. Here she is checking the twirl factor… which we know is there most important part of skirts and dresses.
